Advisors' Opinion:

One under-$10 medical equipment player that's quickly moving within range of triggering a major breakout trade is Nanosphere (NSPH), which develops, manufactures and markets an advanced molecular diagnostics platform, the Verigene System, which enables simple, low-cost and highly sensitive genomic and protein testing on a single platform. This stock has been hit hard by the bears so far in 2013, with shares off by 27%.

If you take a look at the chart for Nanosphere, you'll notice that this stock is just starting to spike sharply higher today back above its 50-day moving average of $2 a share. This spike is quickly pushing shares of NSPH within range of triggering a major breakout trade. That breakout will trigger once NSPH manages to take out the upper-end of its recent sideways trading chart pattern.

Traders should now look for long-biased trades in NSPH if it manages to break out above some near-term overhead resistance levels at $2.17 to $2.20 a share and then once it takes out its gap down day high from August at $2.29 a share with high volume. Look for a sustained move or close above those levels with volume that hits near or above its three-month average action of 652,718 shares. If that breakout hits soon, then NSPH will set up to re-fill some of its previous gap down zone from August that stated just above $3 a share. If that gap gets filled with volume, then NSPH could easily tag $3.50 to $4 a share.

Traders can look to buy NSPH off any weakness to anticipate that breakout and simply use a stop that sits right below some key near-term support levels at $1.81 to $1.77 a share. One can also buy NSPH off strength once it clears those resistance levels with volume and then simply use a stop that sits a comfortable percentage from your entry point.

Paul Morris/Bloomberg/Getty Images There were plenty of winners and losers this week, with a fast food chain's attempt to offer healthier fare falling short and the world's largest networking equipment company letting pink slips fly. Here's a rundown of the week's smartest moves and biggest blunders. Satisfries -- Loser Burger King Worldwide (BKW) is giving up on trying to woo calorie counters. The burger chain is discontinuing Satisfies -- the crinkle-cut fries that contain 40 percent less fat and 30 percent fewer calories than McDonald's (MCD) signature spud sticks -- at most restaurants. Some franchisees will keep offering Satisfries, but the item didn't stick on its menu for much more than a year. Burger King claims that the item didn't sell well despite clearing roughly 100 million orders for the slightly less unhealthy fries. One can argue that Satisfries were doomed because of Burger King chose to charge more for an order than its traditional fries. Fast food joints are magnetic to folks looking to save money. Plus Burger King isn't a big draw to folks on a diet despite following rivals into salads. Monster Beverage (MNST) -- Winner Coca-Cola (KO) has struggled to make a dent in the energy drink market dominated by Red Bull and Monster, so it's betting on a winner. Coca-Cola is investing $2.15 billion to buy a 16.7 percent stake in Monster Beverage. It's a smart move for Coca-Cola as it continues to diversify from carbonated drinks that have fallen out of favor with consumers. However, it's a bigger deal for Monster Beverage. The stock jumped on the news, and rightfully so. Green Mountain Coffee Roasters (GMCR) has soared since Coca-Cola made a similar investment earlier this year. Cisco (CSCO) -- Loser It's another round of pink slips at Cisco. The networking gear giant announced that it that it will be dismissing 6,000 workers or 8 percent of its staff. It's a big number, but the market shouldn't be surprised. This is the fourth summer in a row

www.seaworld.com SeaWorld Entertainment (SEAS) can't seem to catch a break. Shares of the marine life theme park operator were gutted on Wednesday after posting abysmal quarterly results. Revenue declined 1 percent to $405.2 million on flat attendance growth. Net income checked in at $0.43 a share. Wall Street was holding out for a profit of $0.51 a share with a healthy increase in revenue. From Bad to Worse As maligned as SeaWorld has been since going public at $27 a share last year, this was supposed to be its turnaround quarter. Everything seemed to be going its way. The bad weather and price hikes that resulted in a 9 percent slide in attendance during the second quarter of last year should have been a springboard this time around. The shift of the Easter holiday this year -- going from March in 2013 to April in 2014 -- should have provided the school holidays that boost turnstile clicks. After all, SeaWorld blamed the timing of Easter for the 13 percent plunge in attendance during the first three months of this year. As bad as the second quarter was for SeaWorld, the second half of the year is going to be even more of a mess. SeaWorld now sees revenue sliding 6 percent to 7 percent for all of 2014 -- with profitability falling even harder. Desperation is starting to set in. The second quarter was the first time in the company's brief publicly traded tenure that attendance outpaced revenue growth. That's surprising given SeaWorld's annual rate increases, suggesting that SeaWorld is doing a lot of discounting and promotional activity to get guests into its theme parks. SeaWorld Orlando and SeaWorld San Diego were the two biggest disappointments during the quarter, and even though the park operator refuses to call out "Blackfish" by name it's clear that last year's documentary is taking its toll. Killer PR "Blackfish," the film that took SeaWorld to task for having killer whales in captivity and placing its trainers in danger, wasn't much of a box off

SeaWorld Entertainment Inc. (SEAS) shares declined 0.4% to $31.40 on light volume after the marine park operator reported a fourth-quarter loss of 15 cents a share on revenue of $272 million, in-line with analyst estimates.

Robyn Beck/AFP/Getty Images From a new player in the fast food market cleverly attacking the leader's mascot to a social giant bringing out its inner shutterbug, here's a rundown of the week's smartest moves and biggest blunders in the business world. Twitter (TWTR) -- Winner There are limitations inherent with Twitter, and the 140-character cutoff is just scratching the surface. Twitter's had its monetization challenges because it's not as interactive with multimedia, but that's taking a step in the right direction this week with the hashtag hasher sprucing up its offerings for shutterbugs. Twitter will now allow Twitter users to tag fellow users in photographs. Twitter will also let someone include as many as four photographs in a single post. We live in visual times, and while Vine and Twitter's original photo platform are decent, it's great to see the dot-com darling take things up a notch. King Digital Entertainment (KING) -- Loser There are tens of millions of Candy Crush Saga players on any given day, but apparently most of them would rather be matching candy pieces than buying into the game's developer. Game creator King Digital Entertainment went public at $22.50 on Wednesday, and unlike many of the dot-com darlings that have pulled off blazing IPOs, the market spat the Candy Crush maker out. The stock opened lower and closed its first day of trading down 16 percent, at $19. It was easy to see this coming. Many key performance metrics had peaked at King during last year's third quarter. Oculus -- Winner Few figured that Facebook (FB) would rush into any big-ticket purchases after its $19 billion deal for Whatsapp, but then the social networking leader announced the purchase of Oculus for $2 billion. Oculus is a virtual reality headwear maker that started drawing attention as a Kickstarter campaign. Critics have pointed out that the backers of that crowdfunding campaign that raised $2.5 million on Kickstarter will get nothing out of this deal.

How does an investment manager reconcile all of the various prognostications he hears on a daily basis?Simplegnore them.eb Faber, Global ValueIf youe never heard of Cambria Investment Management Meb Faber, then you have some serious catching up to do. I consider Faber one of the most innovative strategists in the business today, and I found his research on shareholder yield to be compelling enough to make the Cambria Shareholder Yield ETF (SYLD) a core, long-term holding in multiple ETF portfolios I manage. (For readers unfamiliar with the term, hareholder yieldis a holistic measure of shareholder friendliness that includes dividends paid, shares repurchased, and debt repaid.)Faber latest book, Global Value: How to Spot Bubbles, Avoid Market Crashes, and Earn Big Returns in the Stock Market, provides the research underpinnings for Cambria latest ETF offering, the Cambria Global Value ETF (GVAL).Faber is a uantwho ignores the news of the day and instead focuses on the raw numbers. At its core, Global Value is a roadmap for implementing the value investing concepts originally espoused by Benjamin Graham and David Dodd in their 1934 classic Security Analysis in a systematic, quantitative manner.Specifically, Faber uses the cyclically-adjusted price/earnings ratio (APE, a metric popularized by Yale economist Robert Shiller, as a valuation tool to rank countries. In Faber model, an investor buys the stocks of the cheapest countries as ranked by the CAPE.The CAPE divides the current market price by the average of annual earnings across the economic cycle, with 10 years being the most popular time interval. Why? Because using a single year earnings can massively skew the results based on where you are in the economic cycle. As an example, a collapse in earnings in 2008-2009 would have made the S&P 500 look expensive had you used a simple P/E calculation with 2008 earnings numbers, even though the market had los
